Prepare the First Draft of Your Personal Philosophy of Teaching

Prepare the First Draft of Your Personal Philosophy of Teaching

Why do teachers need to articulate their philosophy of teaching?
What purposes does a philosophy of teaching serve?
It has been recognized by many teachers that the process of identifying a personal philosophy of teaching and continuously examining, testifying, and verifying this philosophy through teaching can lead to change of teaching behaviours and ultimately foster professional and personal growth.

A teaching philosophy is a self-reflective statement of your beliefs about teaching and learning. It includes your conception of teaching and learning, a description of how you teach justification for why you teach that way. A teaching statement conveys your teaching values, beliefs, and goals to a broader audience, provides a set of criteria and/or standards to judge the quality of your teaching and provides evidence of your teaching effectiveness

John Dewes stated "The aim of education should be to teach the child to think, not what to think". From the above definition we can conclude that "a teacher is a motivator and teaching is a method to stimulate the reflective and creative thinking of the students. It involves the thought process that results from a doubt, a perplexity or a problem. A teacher may be necessary for inspiration, motivation, evaluation, coordination and maintaining discipline so as to make teaching successful. The entire system of education is geared towards the realization of certain national goals. The following to make education as a powerful agency of social, economic and cultural transformation necessary for realisation of the national goals.
    Education for productivity
    Strengthening Social and national integration
Democracy as a form of government and as a way of life
    Education for modernization and
Character building by cultivating social, moral and spiritual values.
These aims give directions for the educational process. Through teaching a teacher should develop the students a s a good citizens

  2. My philosophy of teaching

    saranya s social science

Teaching is a profession that can yield something amazing when the right ideas and belives are implemented in class room. I belive that educating others is a responsibility that should be taken seriously with care. I belive that all students have the ability to be succeful so they simply need someone encouragements and i think a teacher is a good person to encourage them. And if i become a teacher i will try my level best to encourage them.
I belived that the purpose of teaching is not to teach students how to memorize facts , or how to know all the correct answers . The purpose of teaching lies in getting students to truly understand the concept being examined , and iam also belive that i cannot realy depened upon text bookes , but rather i must seek out other source of information as an aid in my teaching and i will also guide my students through the subject matter in order to assist the students in their on discoveries.
And iam also beliving that iam clearly know about my subject and each of my students. personal contact with students is essential to my teaching and many studentes need encouragement to talk with their teachers so i emphazise my availablity for informal discussion and my willingness to help them sort out their problemes they have what they are leraning.

Susan Judd Casciani said that “I believe that success – whether personal or professional – is generated from three critical building blocks: knowledge, critical thinking, and curiosity.” I think it’s true. I will become a teacher as one of transferring a fundamental knowledge of course content to students while cultivating their critical thinking skills through the application of theory and concept to current health, economic, and industry – related issues. Through this application, areas that are void of knowledge will ultimately emerge. As a teacher, I will strive to instill a sense of curiosity in my students that will challenge them to fill this void, whether for themselves or for all of us. I will do this by serving as a role model in the sense that I too am searching for knowledge- for me, for them, and for the future. I will demonstrate my own critical thinking skills and share my curiosity for the unexplained or unexamined. I will value the individual backgrounds and experiences of my students and encourage them to teach me as I teach them.
I expect that my students will have variety of levels of desire for learning. I must focus on students learning and adjust my teaching strategies in response to the pace and depth of students understanding. I view teaching as an interaction between an instructor and a student; thus, the impact of this interaction on instructor is of primary importance.
As an instructor, it is my responsibility to help students generate their own context for meaning through the application of new material to their everyday lives.
I feel that as a teacher, it is his/her responsibility to determine exactly what he/she expect students to understand after completing his/her class, then to facilitate student learning so that every student reaches this level.

  4. Personal Philosophy of education

    Vithu Vijayan - Mathematics

Education and philosophy, the two disciplines are very closely related and in some areas they overlap each other. It is quite often said that, philosophy and education are two side of the same coin. Education is the dynamic side of philosophy. One can never be thought of without the other. The presence of one is incomplete without the other. The art of education cannot be completed without philosophy and philosophy cannot convert others to its aims and values without education. Education is practical in nature and philosophy is theory. It is not vague to say that theory and practical are identical. Philosophy is the study of realties, the pursuit of wisdom. It is true that education works like a catalyst for a better life, a social desirable life. The basic relationship between philosophy and education can be analysed as follows. It is philosophy, that provides the purpose or the aim and it is education which makes it practical.

  5. Teaching, in essence, it is the “why, what, and how” of one’s teaching. More specifically, Nancy Chism (1998) writes, “What brings a teaching philosophy to life is the extent to which it creates a vivid portrait of how a person is intentional about teaching practices and committed to career”. The teaching statement is essentially intended to help others visualize who we are as a teacher. I believe teaching is a form of customer service in which the teacher creates a learning environment that motivates the students to learn and supports them in the learning process. Instead of focusing on a particular teaching technique, the teacher should utilise whatever tools that stimulate the maximum learning in the students. It is often difficult to motivate students particularly for large classes when interaction between the teacher and students is limited. Motivation occurs when students realise what they are learning is interesting and/or relevant. Once the students become interested and motivated, it would be much easier to encourage them to learn more about the subject and to inquire into topics beyond the course syllabus or exam paper. I believe that creating a class atmosphere congenial enough for students to feel comfortable to express their opinion and approach me with questions is very important because learning is incomplete without questioning. Also classroom must provide an atmosphere congenial enough for students to ask questions.

“Teaching is about making some kind of dent in the world so that the world is different than what it was before you practiced your craft.”
Stephen Brookfield, the Skillful Teacher (1990)

Teaching, is that the key to being a successful instructor is to spend enough time reflecting upon one’s objectives, means and results. Teaching is not only about disseminating knowledge; it is also about persuasive communication. It is an actions in the classroom built on knowledge, critical thinking and curiosity. Teaching combines knowledge, skill, passion, and compassion.

Some questions will be from minds that would go on to challenge the conventional wisdom of the day and some will make the instructor feel like an utter failure. But at all times the intellectual diversity of the class should be respected and promoted. I feel it is a fundamental responsibility of the teacher to promote critical thinking without being imposing and to encourage without being patronizing. The value of a teaching philosophy statement, however, extends even beyond these pragmatic and summative purposes. The very act of taking time to reflect on our teaching can help us to clarify our own beliefs or reveal inconsistencies, thereby facilitating change and improvements that foster personal and professional growth.
Views about the teaching learning process:- Conceptualization of learning, conceptualization of teaching, goals for students, evaluation or assessment of goals, inclusive learning ,keep it brief, ground it in your discipline, but use language that can be broadly appreciated, make sure it is well written.

A philosophy of teaching statement is a narrative that includes:
•our conception of teaching and learning
•a description of how we teach
•justification for why we teach that way
    I believe:
    •Students are people.
•Teachers are role models both in the classroom and in the community.
•Preparation and enthusiasm are cornerstones of effective teaching.
•Good teachers always try to be fair.
•Students learn best when they are aware of not only what is required of them, but also what is fair to require from their teachers.
    •Effective teaching requires flexibility.
    •Teaching can always be improved.

I prefer to teach through demonstrations by conducting mini-experiments and analysing data in the classroom, by participating in small group debates and role-plays, by observing and chronicling behaviours from “the real world”. Every student possesses unique capabilities that can be shared with others if given the appropriate sup¬ports. I challenge my students to share opinions with and to mentor one another.

Teaching is the activity of facilitating learning. Learning must be self directed and independent so that students become life-long learners. The effect of spoon feeding is to promote dependent learning, which goes against the very spirit of education. In my opinion, learners must develop the mental capacity to continue learning both in the subject of specialization and in other subjects, critically evaluate and apply the knowledge in novel situations. A learner should be a self-critical thinker which leads to openness of mind and willingness to doubt and question. An excellent teacher helps learners to acquire all learning abilities which I mentioned earlier. Since each student have particular learning styles, teachers use a range of teaching strategies to effectively meet the needs of the students. I believe that teachers who know their subject matter thoroughly can be more effective and efficient at organizing the subject matter, connecting the subject with the student’s previous knowledge, finding useful analogies and examples and presenting current thinking on the subject. A learner should work with learning and apply new material to past knowledge and to everyday life. I think, active involvement of the learner in discussion, practice sessions, structured exercises, and team projects enhances learning. In the words of William James: “Teaching without an accompanying experience is like filling a lamp with water. Something has been poured in, but the result is not illuminating”. From my point of view, interaction between students and faculty, particularly informal interaction is one of the most important factors in student motivation for learning. Learning is enhanced when it is perceived as a collaborative and cooperative effort between students. Both teaching and learning are enhanced by descriptive feedback. Without feedback neither learner nor teacher can improve because they will not know what they need to know or to what extent they are fulfilling their goals.
Physics is the science that attempts to describe how nature works using the language of mathematics. It is often considered the most fundamental of all the natural sciences and its theories attempt to describe the behavior of the smallest building blocks of matter, light, the Universe and everything in between. If a student doesn’t understand what physics is they are unlikely to grasp the relevance of physics to society and more importantly the relevance of physics to them. The importance of physics to society today is most easily represented by our reliance on technology. The study of physics in schools and universities is undoubtedly relevant to society today. Physics is important because it generates fundamental knowledge required for technological advancement, it extends and enhances our understanding of other disciplines and it contributes to our technological infrastructure.
Traditionally it was thought that students learn physics in small incremental steps and that each step builds logically, one upon the next. It is a typical example of teacher-centered teaching. In my opinion, learning must be student-centered and collaborative. The use of online learning strategies and problem based learning approaches enhance the learning experience and also help students achieve lifelong learning skills, including problem solving skills which are essential to physics. The most useful teaching strategies are group discussions, oral presentations, laboratories, critical review, problem based learning, self assessment, team work, workshops and case studies. From my experience, most students think physics is the most difficult subject they have to study. To supplement the use of chalk and blackboard, I plan to introduce slides, video, film and other multimedia material into my physics teaching. Then I hope physics will not be so boring for the students. Using problem based learning can increase student’s interest in the subject and increase student’s motivation in learning science.

Education is a lifelong process with no true beginning or end. Education includes experience, environment, socialization and communication. Education feeds natural curiosity and enhances creativity. These thoughts begin my philosophy of education. John Dewey believed that “all genuine education comes through experience”. I agree that education does not begin and end in a classroom. The extent of education we receive is the sum of experience we allow ourselves to be exposed to. I believe that an educated person knows that he/she doesn’t know everything, that we in fact know every little and there are always more questions to be answered. This is what I think the attitude of an effective teacher should be. An effective teacher knows the value of question and exploration. The question is as relevant as the answer. Getting to the answer is the journey. This is how learning begins, with a question. Children generally enter the classroom ready to learn , especially in the primary grades. It is the responsibility of the teacher to motivate and enhance that desire to learn by the classroom environment that he/she creates. A teacher is educated in methodology and technique to pass on knowledge, but is that enough? Is there more to the profession than simply passing on what we know and present it how we’ve been taught? If this is the case, then teaching is a job where we are more concerned with how the students reflect our own performance rather than the progress of our students. An effective teacher teaches from the inside out.A teacher has strong convictions about what is taught and to who is learning what is taught. A teacher is a model for learning. We set the example of what we expect from our students.

  9. I believe the children are our future. I believe each and every child has the potential to bring something special to the world. I will help children to develop their potential by believing in them as capable individual. I will assist children in discovering who they are, so they can express their own opinion and their own ideas. I believe that the teacher acting as a guide, allowing the child’s natural curiosity to direct their learning .Also personal contact with students is essential to my approach, so I think I discuss with the students about their learning and help them to solve the problems.

In my class room I bring lots of energy. I give a positive atmosphere and a window on the world. I know that some students think mathematics is a difficult and boring subject. In my opinion it is an interesting subject, it is the foundation of all sciences (engineering, astrology, accounting, physics ect).Without mathematics, very difficult to live in a community. Mathematics played an important role in our day today life (purchasing, banking, home budget ect)
I hope I will make this as an interesting subject to students. I am using different and interesting style. I work to make this subject not just survivable but interesting as well. My role as a teacher is to give children the tools to cultivate their own gardens of knowledge .To accomplishes this goal, I will teach to the needs of each child so that all learners can feel capable and successful. I will give students to projects, group work, individual work and hand- on learning in order to make children active learners. Finally I will tie learning into the world community to help children become caring and active members of society.

Teaching is a lifelong learning process of learning about new philosophies and new strategies, learning from the parents and community, learning from the colleagues and especially learning from the children. For myself, teaching provides an opportunity for continual learning and growth. One of my hopes as a teacher is to instill a love of learning in my students, as I share my own passion for learning with them. In our competitive society, it is important for students to not only receive a solid education, but to work with some one who is aware of and sensitive to their individual needs.

  10. My personal philosophy of teaching

According to my concept of teaching,a teacher should be a promotor and facilitator of students in their learning process and providing them with all the informations and guidlines. As a teacher i willl give my students all the freedom to think and discover knowledge in their own way.I belive that learning process should not only be limitted in the four walls of the class room.So i will defenitely try to make my students to correlate their text book lessons with the real environment or nature outside the class room.Inorder to acheive that goal i would vary my teaching style. Most important thing a teacher should possess is to being up to date with all the latest information including local and global informations. In my view each individual is unique in differents aspects.so a teacher should consider any ideas ,opinions, criticisms and suggestions from each and every students
I should prefer students centered learning in my class because i think students with all IQ levels can pick up faster through group discussion and group activities. This will also help them to develope their responsibilities for acheiving their goals in their life.I should also practise professionalism in my class so that l can also improve my self in latest technologies. In my opinion a teacher should create a fearless and comfortable learing enviornment.I will defenitely try to make a good rapport with students so that i can a get a friendly approach with my students.

The Teaching and Learning are two sides of a coin. Learning is the modification of the behaviour through experience. In learning process mind react to external condition the reaction being modified by what has been experience before. Learning is a generative process since no one can never observe it directly. The teacher is not only the students environment but a controller of his environment. Every teacher should have sound philosophy of life and education .The philosophical outlook of the teacher enables the student to make harmonious and effective adjustment in life. To realize aims of education must be a father son relationship between the teacher and student. A teacher is to his student what a gardener is to the plant in the garden. He has to take care of the student with the care and attention of a gardener. A teacher is an observer and stage setter .His place is behind the scene. The child must have freedom to grow his inborn qualities. In this role teacher has to select and present to the learner the experience which may lead him to the fulfilment of his need and his obligation to the society. It is this role of the teacher as the students environment that makes a teacher a teacher. A good teacher is guide friend and Philosopher
    ,
Phylosphy is the basis of education. It determine the goal towards the education has to go .Philosophy is what gives education its vision and direction without which education loses its social significance.

As a future educator I plan to be a vital source to the children I serve I plan to guide them in right direction, both educationally and as individuals .l share my knowledge and experience with the children and I find the need and interests of them .I want to promote their reading and creativity .By live with them I would like to meaningful my life and profession .

Education is a process by which the personality of a child is developed. This is possible only by the interaction between the child and the teacher. A teacher should always be a guide, a friend and a philosopher.

According to my philosophy of teaching, I seek to facilitate the students to discover knowledge by themselves and not simply by imparting knowledge to them. I like to dedicate myself to the students and i always aim at the all round development(co-curricular and extra curricular) of the child. For me , a discussion class is more interesting than a teacher centered class. The discussion can lead to several intellectually stimulating questions. The comment from a student when followed by a counter perspective which results in a new claim for the whole class to think about. My main goal is to encourage independent thinking and analytical reasoning to augment the students problem solving skill. Again i will make use of power point presentation effectively as the teaching method. I like to arrive at the class 15 minutes early to chat with my students and spend the first 5 minutes of class checking in on how they are doing.

I like to teach my subject, chemistry, more effectively by demonstrating experiments, explaining the concept using models and making the students to do some experiments themselves. In addition, i would like to organize trips to specific chemical factories or industries so that students see" in live action" what they have read and retain it effectively.

Learning is a process that is to be continued lifelong. Today learning is just to score high marks in exams and to obtain a secure job. Students are forced to learn without knowing their interest , they are learning for their parents and teachers. But learning must not be like that we must learn according to our interest and taste, a teacher should discover a students interest and help him to develop his skills. Students must not learn like a robot, they should have practical knowledge also, then only they can achieve their goals

Physical science is a subject that consist of many theories, hypothesis. assumptions, mathematics etc. Just teaching the theory will never make a student to understand it. But physics when compared to other subjects have high applications in our day to day life. Learning physics include conducting experiments, doing different projects and observing the universe. This will help them to have a complete knowledge in the subject. In their future life applying their knowledge they can solve many problems.

I will teach physics by sharing practical knowledge other than explaining theories. I will use technologies to share different ideas regarding the topic and make the class very interesting. I will give opportunities for sharing their ideas in the classes and also to conduct experiments regarding the topic

  15. My Personal Philosophy of Teaching

I believe that learning is a daily process which, we do sometimes knowingly and sometimes unknowingly and it is a continuous process of life. I understand that it is my responsibility to help students learn from their own experiances and from the experiances of others. I will try to help students learn things that otherwise would have been difficult to learn by their own. I believe that a teacher’s primary role is that of a facilitator of learning, creating opportunities for learning which improve the chances of student success. I believe that the learning process is multifaceted, unique to each student, yet containing unifying threads of purpose in addressing the student as a whole person. My opinion is that the teacher's acting as guide should allow child's natural curiosity to direct through learning process andpromote respect for all things and all people.
I believe that the true goal of education is the realization of human potential. Definiteness of goals helps in planning, executing and evaluating everystep,of teaching learning process. I like to teach my subject mathematics by using different techniques and day to day practical application. It helps the students in achieving the educational goal and objectives.
Burton said" Teaching is the stimulation, guidance, direction and encouragement of learning". Ryburn emphasises this aspect in these words,"The guidance of the teacher is mainly a matter of giving the right kind of stimulus to help him to learn the right things in the right way".
I think teaching provides an opportunity for continual learning and growth. I will do my best to motivate all children.

As a teacher I should develop a deep fund of commitment, empathy and motivation to students and as a persevere of knowledge to create meaningful educational experience to children. The vicious circle of student, curriculum and teacher should be broken. I think this vicious circle had resulted in the loss of values of education and teacher should reflect the conditions in the society so as to reconstruct the ways of learning as it should support students as agents of change in society. Teaching should not be limited in the building up of knowledge rather it should be able to address issues regarding social signifigance.I will try to understand and support each child since they are coming from different environment which in turn will help me to adopt appropriate teaching strategies. Moreover I want to make sure that Knowledge imparted in the classroom should be coupled with child’s sown experience and with the environment in which he/ she lives which I believe will influence child’s personality. I prefer not to be a slave of textbook but be original and relevant and an expert in the subject. I think these are all philosophical and sociological aims of education.
From an academic perspective i.e. when it comes to teaching and learning (biology) the dominant experience of rote learning should be avoided and develop practical knowledge. Learning science should be an active process. I wish students should learn the dynamism of science by keen observation which will cater the development of scientific temper among students. And as a teacher I prefer to cultivate the habit of observation and asking questions. I am sure when science is learned through practical experience they will learn the ways of nature and start acknowledging it.
Students should not be assessed by our system of exams because it is a way of examining the skills of reproduction from memory rather check what concepts they had framed. I think this is more significant because our pattern of teaching and learning cannot meet the competitive character of our system for which we need extra coaching. I wish this problem should be addressed in my class by developing critical and analytical thinking of concepts. I believe the constructivist approach, will solve the problem which is based on experimental learning through real life experience to construct and conditionalize knowledge will enable adaptive learning, integrates new knowledge with existing knowledge, and allows creation of original work and innovative procedures.

Albert Einstein says “the only thing that interferes my learning is my education” This is the biggest drawback of our education system which is relevant high time now and as a student I often feel it too. Thankfully I have some best teachers in my life that I didn’t become a disaster in chemistry. Some of them made me fell in love with that subject that I can make it up to here.so as a teacher this is what I intended to do, to make my students lovers of science. I think compared to any other subject this can be done best in chemistry/physics as it is based on experimental proofs.
On a personal note I will always try to look beyond the differences of my students and treat everyone with equality and I seriously hope they will not say my classes bore them that will be the biggest failure of me as a science teacher.

  20. MY PHILOSOPHY OF TEACHING

The main objective of teaching is helping the pupils so that they can understand the realities properly and may adjust in a better way. So, in my opinion, I would like to become a teacher who can be a guide, a guardian and a friend. It’s not so easy to be such a person. Because grabbing the trust from someone is not so easy. And a teacher should be so careful when he/she is dealing with the students. Because students are new to the reality of this world. If they feel any kind of artificiality in teacher’s behaviour, it can even destroy their trust upon the world. So for attaining the trust of the students, a teacher should be open. I believe one’s talk is the only way to open one’s mind before others. When one talk continuously, one can’t conceal the real self. So I would like to include more interactive sessions in my class. And I will make my students to interact more. For that I will include debate sessions, seminars and its feedbacks frequently.

Being a language teacher, I have to give more focus on the communication skill. By communicating with my students, I can build up a healthy relation with them. I think the teacher-student relation will be more effective when the distance between the two is less. I had a Physics teacher in my high school education who always tried to boost up me to study Physics. It was only because of her that I got A grade in Physics. Later when I entered to the higher secondary, I never ever got satisfactory marks in Physics.! The above mentioned teacher pat gently on my shoulders and told me to study when the exams are near. I studied to make her happy. The student in me wanted to fulfill my teacher’s wish. So I would like to be such a teacher who can make a positive effect in my students.

I would like to make my students feel that they can consult me for solving their problems. We need not be psychologists to solve the issues. The only thing needed is a little time to listen. This can strengthen the relation between a teacher and a student. I do understand the conservationist belief in the teacher-student relation. Teachers were much like idols. But in this technology era, teachers are co-learners. So I think, there is no problem to show the real self of the teacher. There is no need to wear a mask. If the teacher is true to oneself, then the students will behave the same. Thus a teacher can understand the true nature of students and can advise them if there needs any change.

  22. Philosophy and education are closely related to each other. Philosophy is the basis of all education. It determines the goal towards where education has to go. I think that education is the life long process of coming to know who we are .An ambition means strong desire to achieve something great. I believe that the whole life of a person depends upon his profession. A teacher is a very special person in our society. So I feel I like to become a teacher and consider it as an aim in our life.
I have an opinion that one of the most important aspects of teaching learning process is evaluation. Without knowing the latest and reliable evaluation tool a teacher cannot evaluate his/her student’s .I would like to teach my students by adopting some technical methods which create curiosity and anxiousness.
I must give some advice for the students to plan various co-curricular activities in schools. I will help my students for develop a positive, social approach towards life.
I give too much importance for the needs of children.
I will evaluate and assess the attainments of the students by various methods.

In every matter there is philosophy behind it. In teaching too philosophy can help a teacher to change teaching behaviour and ultimately foster professional and personal growth. In preparing a teaching philosophy teachers asses and examine themselves to articulate the goals they wish to achieve in teaching.
A teacher is friend, Philosopher and guide to the pupils. I like teaching very much because it is a noble job. When teaching a lesson I should integrate previous knowledge with new knowledge with the help of simple examples. Teaching philosophy can very much help to impart new knowledge to the students. I help the students to their self development through teaching.
Being a mathematics teacher my philosophy has always been help the pupils to gain a fundamental understanding the concepts behind the subjects. While teaching mathematics I use different teaching aids to understand the subject. I also distribute handouts and emails for the students who learn more readily reading than hearing.
I would like to build a healthy relation with the pupil that they can share any their personal problems to me and I would help to solve these problems at any cost. I also give remedial teaching to below average students to help them to upgrade .

I had read in books Education is a means to achieve philosophical ends. Philosophy fixes up values, suggests ideal and lays down the principle. We e know philosophy is the most important feature in Education field.so philosophy which sets ultimate values on the basis which aims of Education are determined. These aims determine the curriculum, the methods of teaching, note of the teacher, nature of discipline and so on.my concept all educational aims are philosophical. I think philosophy provides a total view of the educational situation. Philosophers said without philosophy of education the teacher will not have any sense of purpose in his teaching and also every aspect of education has a philosophical base.
Teaching is an interesting and a respectable profession in our society. I believe that this profession has a lot of normal values. So I select this field in my life. Teacher is a guide, friend and philosopher. Therefor I try feeling of healthy competition should be developed in children at the time of teaching. I must be teach rained in using latest evaluation tools because that’s helps to the conduct action research, to organise, supervise and participate in co-curriculum activities of the school, to develop and use instructional materials and also.
We often speak of the wonders of the world. Nature is one of the wonder that the god. As a Biology teacher I would like to spent my teaching hour with the student , in our new system the student are stressed and forced by the syllabus. the relaxation mind is an essential for the concentrating study so I will try to share my classes outside the class room for creating freshness of the students. I will adopt some technical methods like power point presentation, video for creating some anxious and curiosity among the students, because I believe that students are always watch videos related to wonder of nature .The students are the citizens of the coming generation so by discussing contemporary issues arts related thoughts historical events .I will create I try to improve their thoughts, communication skills and their intellectual ideas.
Philosophy always creates a better chemistry between teacher and students. As a teacher my philosophy concept about learning teaching are follows.

    MY PHILOSOPHY OF TEACHING

I see my role of teacher as researcher and observer of children.I will use information from observations to evaluate progress and plan further learning activities. I see myself as a learner and will continue to make the most of every learning opportunity, from within and outside of the teaching profession. I will act with friendliness towards colleagues, parents, and the children in my classroom. I will provide the right learning experiences and unlimited personal feedback to the children to develop motivation. . I will allow them opportunities to set up their own learning spaces, display their work at their own eye level. I will provide support for new learning by modelling and I will gradually withdraw that support to lead the child towards independence. I believe that oral language skills are the foundation of all language and literacy learning. Therefore I will provide maximum opportunity for the development of oral language skills, especially when this requires children to explain their thinking. I will provide opportunities for children to exercise imagination and creativity in as many varied ways as possible. I value physical health and well-being and believe they are essential for a happy life. Therefore I will promote healthy practices and physical activity for my students. I value responsibility. Therefore I will model my own and develop the children’s abilities to care for other people, animals and the environment. I believe that children’s needs can change during the day. Therefore I will be aware of providing a balance of activities to suit their energies and emotions. I will also be flexible and make changes to routines, activities and times when necessary. I believe that the technology cycle can be utilised in all learning areas. Therefore I will teach the skills and involve the children in examining their everyday world through the technology cycle.
It is my deepest belief that each child has the ability to become the best they can and I want to see each individual child of mine will develop into a powerful self-confident learner.

  31. Divya Prasad, Natural Science Class has submitted her personal philosophy as follows. Congrats
The concept of education has been rapidly changing these days. As a result, the role of teachers also is changing. Education has ceased to be a teacher centered process; it has become life centered and child centered. So I believe that by creating a student-centered learning, my students will be able to take charge of their own learning with little assistance from the teacher. This will develop a sense of responsibility in them in terms of achieving their learning goal. As a teacher, one of my roles would be to coach and facilitate them throughout the learning process by providing information and giving useful guidelines in order for them to achieve their learning target. By being more resourceful, I will be able to achieve self-satisfaction and success in teaching. As a teacher I should try to be totally involved with the class, dedicated to students and be prepared to devote time and energy for them.
Love for teaching evokes passion and dedication. The enthusiasm of a motivated teacher rubs off on students, who derive the inspiration and encouragement which actuate their desire to learn. This keeps the students interested and they tend to retain the course material very well .As a teacher, I will be open to new ideas and suggestions therefore I would like to be more involved in education. Therefore I will try to be well-prepared for every lesson by planning my time and materials efficiently. I should create a fearless learning and make a friendly approach to students. Students tend to learn more effectively from an approachable teacher who sets up a comfortable atmosphere conducive to learning.

  32. PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY OF TEACHING

Teacher is a person who can create a good visualization of education about all aspects of life for the future generations. It is with the help of a teacher, a student can mould his/her character and try to understand what is going on in and around them. I will try to make my class a very interactive one not monotonous. I, as a teacher, will show an interest in their studies and activities and will become friendly towards them in all teaching learning activities. I will give an equal status to all students and will never show any discrimination among them. In my class, I’ll try to understand the basic knowledge of all students by asking them questions related to the topic, i.e., what all they know about the topic till now and try to avoid the fear of the subject by explaining the matter in a simple and meaningful manner. I will surely make an attempt to understand the basics of my subject deeply and always try to link the subject with day to day activities. I will teach them the social manifestations of science. In the present curriculum, feedback from the students and a self reflection of my own way of teaching and about all my activities is a must. I will improve my teaching methods based on the feedback from the students. Based on self reflection, I am able to understand my own weaknesses and will try to overcome it and make the class an interesting and effective one. As a teacher, I will try my best to understand the learning abilities of all my students and give them motivation to create an interest in learning by themselves. In the class, I must show a more positive attitude towards the students responses and I think that this will give an inspiration to them in their learning process. I’ll try to give a clear description of the subject without any misunderstanding. I shall give them time to think about the topic and want to know how they are going to interpret the given topic. As a teacher, it is my responsibility to create a harmony among students in all their studies and extra-curricular activities. I shall try to improve their confidence level in all aspects. Apart from my subject oriented class, it is my duty to teach them the need of mankind, humanity, co-operation, love of both truth and justice, friendliness, etc. and also to make them a good citizen.

  34. MY PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY OF TEACHING
I believe that education is a uniquely individual experience for each and every student. In order for children to benefit from what schools offer, teachers must fully understand the significance of their profession. I firmly believe that teachers must regard teaching to be a way of life not merely a position, as professionals entrusted with the education of our students, teachers must engage and facilitate learning and growth academically, personally, and ethically. By providing a valid and worthwhile educational experience to each individual, a teacher equips the students in their charge with the tools necessary for success in life. I consider that it is important to establish a mutually respectful, honest rapport with students, a relationship in which communication is of the up most priority. Learning must begin with motivation and inspiration.
I strongly believe that it is extremely important to incorporate a variety of instructional strategies into the classroom. Teachers must not always use the strategies that they feel most comfortable with or the ones that are most convenient, but they must use the strategies that are most beneficial for their students. According to me i will try to use direct instruction, co-operative learning, peer to peer tutoring and hands on activities.
Teaching is a profession with incredible opportunities and has the power to shape our students future. When i become a teacher, i must made a commitment to myself and my future students to be the best academic, personal, and ethical role model i can be. It is my goal to have an inspiring teaching career by keeping an open mind and continually communicating with my peers and students. I will continually acquire new ideas and activities and extend my education when ever possible.

  36. Dear Sir,
This is Lini Thomas from Physical Science.

As my subject is Science,I firmly believe that physical concepts cannot be taught or learned merely through reading or lecturing. These concepts requires use of brain than language and therefore must be taught through nonverbal ways.

If I have to find a result based on a theorem,i will ask students to revise the topics which I taught them in previous classes and will encourage the students to engage in the same and guide them to reach the solution. These help the students to overcome some of the thorny concepts and provides useful feedback to improve my lecture and problem solving.I will try my level best to use the modern techniques available which help the students to understand the things better.
I would also like to taught students the values of freedom, liberty, need and importance of loving and respecting fellow human beings, discipline, the lesson of live and let others live,to be polite etc..I will encourage the students to actively participate in all the activities conducting in school,so that their communication skills, social interaction and leadership qualities will develop along with their academics.

As a teacher,I would like to build a child as a human being with good morals and values rather than a brilliant student with great subject knowledge.

    My teaching philosophy
In my class room, facts, concepts and principles are the most important things that students should acquire. What I say and do models appropriate ways for students to think about issues in the content. Activity in my class encourage students to develop their own ideas about content issues. I spend time consulting with students on how to improve their work on individual and for group projects. What i have to say about a topic is important for students to acquire a broader perspective on the issues in that area. I believe small group discussion are employed to help students develop their ability to think critically. I want students to leave this course well prepared for further work in this area. It is my responsibility to define what students must learn and how they should learn it.
I guide students work on course projects by asking questions, exploring options and suggesting alternative way to do things. I believe, developing the ability of students to think and work independently is an important goal. I often show students how they can use various principles and concepts. I believe, course activities encourage students to take initiative and responsibility for their learning. I give students a lot of personal support and encourage to do well in their course.

As I am a natural science student, in our present world humans are exploiting nature and as a result we are facing a lot of natural calamities. Through my classes I gave awarene4sson how nature is important for our life, what bare the gifts provided by our nature. Philosophy is mainly concerned with the big questions about the world and human existence. Where as education is a continues attempt which systematically create and innumerable discipliner. philosophy and education are two sides of the same coin. Philosophy is the contemplative side while education is its active side. The former deals with the theoretical part later with practical part. Philosophical thought will enable the teachers to re-orient their own philosophy and belief help them to understand and problematic situation in the class room discipline, under achievement of students and many such other problems and ultimately enable them to determine the manner in which they will handle this problems. Philosophy helps the teacher in the in the following manner.

    a) Philosophy provides direction to the teacher
    b) It serves as a guide to the teacher for experiments.
    c) It provides clarification of the nature of education to the teacher.
    d) It enable the teacher to think critically and rationally
    e) It enables teacher to handle disciplinary situation satisfactorily

Natural science is the one of the important subject to study. I think most of the topic related to natural science creates a wide curiosity among the students. Because the subject is mainly describing about living and nonliving organism. Natural science contains the external and internal body part of human being its function and the structure of plants tissues etc. It also deals with the detailed study of different types of diseases and its vaccination and also the micro organism like virus and bacteria. the vast study about the different types of plants and animals are possible through this subject. It is a compulsory subject in our curriculum. The deep study related to this subject creates a wide scope in the higher studies such as in the field of agriculture, medical field etc.
As a teacher i do not show partiality towards children. I will give special importance to below average students for making them to average. I will conduct different activities among my students for generating their interest in natural science. I think it is better to teach in I T oriented class method. Sir,

Teaching Philosophy is a document in progress.A teacher's personal philosophy of education is a critical element in guiding children along the path of enlightenment.

I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically and socially.I also believe that each and every child has the potential to bring something unique and special to the world.I will help children to develop their potential by believing in them as capable individuals.I will assist children in discovering who they are,so they can express their own opinions and ideas. My classroom will be a caring, safe and equitable environment where each child can blossom and grow.I will allow children to become responsible members of our classroom community by using srategies such as meetings, positive discipline and democratic principles.Every classroom presents a unique community of learners that varies not only in abilities, but also in learning styles.

My role as a teacher is to give children the tools with which to cultivate their own gardens of knowledge. To accomplish this goal,I will teach to the needs of each child so that all learners can feel capable and successful. One of my hopes as an educator is to instill a love of learning in my students,as I share my own passion for learning with them.In our competitive society,it is important for students to not only receive a solid education, but to work with someone who is aware of and sensitive to their individual needs.I am such a person and will always strive to be the best educator that I can be.

    Dear Sir,

Teaching has been gaining the status of a profession though it is considered by many as a vocation.the two main roles that a teacher has to play may be stated as those of a theorist and a practitioner. As a theorist,he has to play the role of an educational philosopher,an educational psychologist and an educational sociologist. As a practitioner,he has to play the role of an instructor,a director,a motivator,an advisor,a counsellor and career master and so on.......
The concept of education has been rapidly changing these days.As a result, the role of teacher is also changing.Education has ceased to be a teacher-centered process,it has become life-centered and child-centered.
Teaching can be rightly deemed as a profession because.....It has well defined functions and well identified nature and scope. ....It has a philosophy of its own.As a part of my initiatory school experience,I am sharing my experience and suggestions with u...
It was really aa wonderful experience to me.I done my initiatory school experience in govt.girls HSS mavelikara....At first I felt tensed and nervous when entered the school...I taken the 3 classes in chemistry individually for 8th and 9th students. My 3 classes were passed away like heaven. But I really enjoyed the classes when I taught.I also felt pleasure in my mind to got an oppurtunity like this....

    As a teacher........
    1) I try to interact with the students not as a teacher, but as a friend.
    2) I try to understand the students opinion and interests......
    3) I will do nothing that causes disgrace to them personally.
    4) I want to serve truthfully and honestly to realise the objectives and functions that are expected of them.
    5) Try to overlook the students with disability and interact with them more.
    6) Teachers should respect their fellow teachers and should never speak ill or evil of them.
    7) try to give more teaching aids and methods to pupil so that they can understand the content very easily.
    8) As a teacher, try to do experiments within the class by interacting with them more.that is teachers and students participation should be equal, while doing the experiments....
Teachers should step in to the mind of a student by loving them.Teachers should try to continously strengthen their professional competency so that they can serve the pupils to the maximum possible..............

  49. My First Teaching philosophy

The basic principle of my teaching philosophy is the development of “free rational thinking” among students. Generally people follow the age old trend of rote memorization for the acquisition of knowledge by them. In my teaching I will promote the learning by doing i.e. heuristic method.
In my teaching philosophy teacher plays the role of a manager and acts as a friend to her students. I would encourage a positive atmosphere in the class. Students will be called upon for discuss and questions, but mistakes are treated as opportunities to explore misconceptions, not as a reflection of a student's abilities
As well as I would try to create a personal contact with all my students, as many students need encouragement when they talk to their teachers, so I emphasize my availability for informal discussion and my willingness to help them sort out any problems they have with what they are learning.
Another important element of my teaching philosophy is encouraging rational and reasoned oral and written performances for the development of their cognitive learning.
Finally, I would like to encourage a positive scientific attitude among students for the betterment of the future of the world. I would motivate my students to continue asking questions like “how” and “why” in order to come up with more advancement in the field of technology and science
